Finally, a “proper” car.

Since we didn’t want to take our original car without proper papers, we needed a new Wartburg. While we did find one right away (see last post), the guy selling it just wasn’t going to send us the papers as promised. After a lot of frustration resulting from having to listen to a month of excuses of various credibility, our patience was at end end. And we really should have a car by now!
So we decided that we’d have to find another one. Now this is technically the forth (!) Wartburg we bought for this trip (the one we originally wanted to take, one for spares, one which we never got and now this one).
It’s a white sedan we got off of eBay for 166 Euros. I picked it up on monday, and it works fine (after I fixed the minor issue with the front suspension, as seen in the photo). It even has a sunroof! Tomorrow I’ll be driving it to Steinfurt, where we’ll be preparing it for the rally.
